Academic drafting

What the AI academic humanizer fits into

This is one stage in a longer job. A draft exists, parts of it were written with a model, and the prose carries phrasing that reads as machine-made. The pass here takes a section of that prose and rewrites it under an instruction to preserve the original meaning and factual claims, and then hands it back for you to check.

Everything runs from the box on this page. Paste the section, add a rule if you have one, run it, and copy the result out. Your text is sent to our AI server to do the rewrite. It is free, with 5 runs every rolling 24 hours and up to 12,000 characters each, no account needed.

Set up

Three things to settle before you paste anything

Getting these out of the way first saves the runs you would otherwise burn discovering them.

The policy
Find your institution's or your journal's AI rules and read what they require you to disclose. This decides whether the pass is appropriate at all.
The upload question
This route sends your text to our AI server. If your rules restrict putting unpublished work through third-party services, that restriction covers this tool.
The archive
Keep the draft you are working from untouched somewhere separate. The verification pass later depends on having it to compare against.

How to

How to use the AI academic humanizer in three steps

One section per cycle. Repeat the cycle rather than scaling the input.

Step 1
Copy one logical section out of your draft. A discussion subsection or a literature review block, not a whole chapter.
Step 2
Paste it in, add an instruction naming anything that must not move, and run it. One run of your five is used.
Step 3
Work the verification checklist below against the result, then paste the approved text back into your document before starting the next section.

Sizing the pass

Why a section, and not the whole chapter

Two limits set the size of a pass. The input accepts up to 12,000 characters, and the result is capped at 1,400 completion tokens. Those two numbers do not match. Paste something near the input ceiling and the reply can stop before your passage does, which is the usual reason a result comes back mysteriously short.

Working smaller has a second advantage that has nothing to do with the cap. A rewrite you can hold in your head is a rewrite you can actually verify, and the verification is where the value is. A chapter returned in one block gets skimmed. A three-paragraph section gets read.

The checklist

Verify the result item by item

Run every one of these against your archived original. The model is instructed to preserve meaning and factual claims, and these are the places where that instruction still gets away from it.

Hedged verbs
Find every may, might, suggests and appears in the original and confirm it is still there. A hedge upgraded to a plain assertion is the most common failure.
Causal language
Associated with must not have become leads to or causes. Check the results and discussion sections first.
Figures and units
Read each number, percentage, sample size and unit against the source sentence. Do not assume a number survived just because it looks familiar.
Terminology
Confirm no technical term was swapped for a near-synonym, especially anywhere in a methods description.
Citation placement
For each reference, read the sentence it now sits in and confirm that sentence is the claim it supports. A citation can be unchanged and still be pointing at the wrong thing.
Anything missing
Compare the end of the result to the end of your input. A truncated reply looks finished until you check.

Controls

Writing the instruction that holds a section still

The field under the panels takes up to 300 characters and goes to the model with your text. It is the only steering control on this page, and a specific rule beats a general request every time.

Instructions that work well name a thing and forbid a change: keep every hedged verb exactly as written, do not alter any number or unit, leave bracketed citations in their current sentences, preserve the terminology in the methods description. Instructions that do little are the vague ones, such as asking for an academic tone, because the rewrite is already aiming at that.

Straight answer

What the AI academic humanizer will not do

It will not tell you what a detector will say. No pass rate against Turnitin, GPTZero or Originality.ai is claimed here, no prediction is offered, and there is no affiliation with any of them. Tools that publish a percentage are reporting one test on one day against one version of a detector.

For what it is worth in the other direction, Australia's regulator TEQSA has warned that a detector result should not on its own form the basis of a misconduct decision. That is a point about evidence rather than a loophole, and it protects a wrongly flagged author more than anyone else.

In practice

Handing the section on to a supervisor or co-author

Once a section passes the checklist, the useful habit is to note what changed before you send it anywhere. A one-line record of which sections went through a rewriting pass makes a later conversation with a supervisor, an editor or a co-author short instead of awkward.

Disclosure is separate from prose quality, and it does not go away because the writing improved. The ICMJE recommends that authors disclose the use of AI-assisted technologies in preparing a manuscript and take full responsibility for the accuracy, originality and integrity of the work. Whatever your own venue requires, decide it at the start of the job, not at submission.

FAQ

Everything answered. Using the AI academic humanizer

How do I humanize AI academic writing here?

Paste one section into the box, add a rule if you need one, run it, then check the result against your archived draft.

What does a run cost?

Nothing. There are 5 free runs in every rolling 24 hour window and no account is required.

How large can one pass be?

Up to 12,000 characters go in, but the reply stops at 1,400 tokens, so a section is the practical unit.

Why did my result stop mid-sentence?

The completion cap was reached. Split the passage and run the halves separately.

Where does my draft go?

To our AI server, which is where the rewrite runs. There is no browser-only mode on this tool.

Can I attach a document?

No. The tool takes pasted text only, so copy the section out of your file.

What should I put in the instruction field?

A rule that names something specific, such as leaving every hedged verb and every number exactly as written.

How long can the instruction be?

Up to 300 characters, which is enough for two short rules.

Are my citations protected?

No. Nothing here parses citation styles, so every reference needs checking after a pass.

What exactly should I check about a citation?

Read the sentence the reference now sits in and confirm it is still the claim that reference supports.

What is the single most common problem?

A hedge turning into an assertion. Search the original for may, might and suggests, then confirm each one survived.

Should I run a section twice?

Rarely worth it. A second pass drifts further from your original and spends another of your five runs.

Can I use it on a results section?

Yes, with extra care, because that is where a correlational statement most easily becomes a causal one.

Does it handle a methods section well?

It rewrites one, but precise terminology is exactly what a rewrite tends to flatten, so read the vocabulary closely.

Will it get my paper past a detector?

That is not claimed or predicted here, and no pass rate against any detector is published on this page.

Is this connected to Turnitin or GPTZero?

No, there is no affiliation with any detection service.

Do I need to declare that I used this?

Follow your venue's policy. Disclosure duties apply to the work, not to how polished the prose ended up.

Can my institution object to the upload itself?

It can. Some policies restrict sending unpublished work to third-party services, and this route does send your text to our server.

Is there an API or a batch mode?

No. Sections go through one at a time from this page.

Does the allowance reset at midnight?

No, it is a rolling 24 hour window, so each run frees up 24 hours after you made it.

Can I use it on a phone?

Yes. Pasting, running and copying all work in a mobile browser.

What should I keep once a section is approved?

The original draft, until the whole document is finished, and a short note of which sections went through a pass.
