Claude space remover

What the Claude space remover does to your text

The Claude space remover deletes every whitespace character from the text you paste. Spaces, tabs, line breaks and the Unicode spaces that look like spaces but are not. You get back one continuous string with nothing between the characters.

It runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded, there is no run limit and no length cap. The whole job finishes in the time it takes to click.

Before you run it

Pick the right spacing tool for the job

Four different jobs get searched with the same words. Here is which page does which, so you do not paste a paragraph into the wrong one.

You want a key or a slug cleaned
This page. Every whitespace character is deleted and the value becomes one unbroken string.
You want the paragraph still readable
Not this page. The whitespace minifier collapses runs of spacing to a single space and leaves the words spaced.
You want hard-wrapped lines joined up
The remove line breaks route. It unwraps the lines without deleting the spaces between words.
You want invisible characters gone
The zero-width space remover. Zero-width characters have no width at all, so they are not whitespace and this page does not touch them.

How it works

How to remove spaces from Claude text in three steps

No options, no account, no upload.

Step 1
Paste the text from Claude, from the chat window, an Artifact or a terminal scrollback.
Step 2
Run it. Every whitespace character is deleted locally, in a single pass.
Step 3
Copy the result and check the ends. Visible characters are unchanged and the gaps are gone.

The hidden ones

Space characters you cannot see, and this removes anyway

These are why typing a space into a find-and-replace box does not clean copied text.

U+00A0 no-break space
Looks exactly like a normal space. Very common in text that came through a rendered page.
U+202F narrow no-break space
A thinner one, usually sitting between a number and its unit.
U+200A hair space
A very thin typographic space that survives a copy out of a styled interface.
U+3000 ideographic space
The full-width space in Japanese and Chinese text. Removed here like any other whitespace.
U+FEFF byte-order mark
Not a space at all, but matched as whitespace, so a stray one is removed here too.

What stays

What survives this tool, and what to use instead

If you pasted Claude Code output, some of your noise is not whitespace. This is what comes through untouched.

Line-number prefixes
The numbers down the left of a code block are digits. They stay.
ANSI escape sequences
Terminal colour codes are not whitespace and are not handled here.
Box-drawing characters
The lines that framed a panel in the terminal are ordinary visible characters.
Tool-call bullet markers
The symbols printed in front of a tool line are visible characters and survive.
U+200B zero-width space
Zero width means it is not whitespace. The zero-width space remover handles it and thirteen others.

Why it matters

What a stray space actually breaks

Every one of these fails silently, which is the reason people end up here.

An API key with a trailing space
Rejected as invalid, with an error that never mentions whitespace.
A slug or filename with a no-break space
Looks right in every editor and fails every exact match against it.
A spreadsheet lookup
A leading space in one cell means two identical values do not match, and nothing tells you why.
A code identifier
A no-break space inside a name is a syntax error on a line that looks completely normal.

In practice

Who uses the Claude space remover, and when

It is a short-string tool. On a paragraph it is a blunt instrument, on a value it is exactly right.

Developers
Cleaning a token, hash or identifier copied out of a chat before pasting it into a config.
Data teams
Normalising a value before a join, so a leading space stops breaking the match.
Anyone comparing two texts
Strip all whitespace from both and compare what is left, which ignores every difference in wrapping.
FAQ

Everything answered. Claude space remover, frequently asked

How do I remove all spaces from Claude text?

Paste it above and run it. Every whitespace character is deleted and the result comes back as one string.

Does it remove line breaks too?

Yes. Line breaks and tabs are whitespace, so a multi-paragraph paste comes back as a single line.

How do I keep the text readable and just tidy the spacing?

Use the whitespace minifier instead. It collapses runs of spacing to one space rather than deleting everything.

Is the Claude space remover free?

Yes, with no length cap and no run limit, because it runs on your device.

Is my text uploaded?

No. Nothing leaves your browser. You can confirm it in your network panel while you run it.

Does it catch non-breaking spaces?

Yes, along with the narrow no-break space, the hair space and the ideographic space.

Does it remove zero-width spaces?

No. A zero-width space has no width, so it is not whitespace. The zero-width space remover covers it.

Why didn't find-and-replace fix this myself?

The gap was probably a no-break space, which is a different codepoint from the space key you pressed.

Will it break my code?

Yes, if you paste a file. Whitespace carries meaning in most languages. Use it on individual values.

Does it clean Claude Code terminal output?

Only the whitespace part. Line numbers, ANSI codes, box-drawing characters and bullet markers are not whitespace and remain.

Is there a length limit?

No. Nothing is metered, because there is no server involved in the run.

Can I upload a .txt file?

No. This page takes pasted text only.

Does it work on ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok text?

Yes. It removes whitespace from any text, regardless of what produced it.

Are my visible characters changed?

No. Letters, digits, punctuation and emoji come through exactly as they were.

What happens to my word count?

A word counter will report one word, since the result has no separators left. The character count drops by the number removed.

Can I undo it?

Not inside the tool. Keep the original in your clipboard history or in another window before you run it.

Does it work on phones?

Yes, identically in any modern mobile browser.

Is it safe for confidential text?

Yes, because nothing is transmitted or retained anywhere.

Is there a batch mode or an API?

No. One document at a time, on this page.

Does it need an account?

No account, no email, no signup of any kind.

Does it remove emoji or accents?

No. Only whitespace is touched. The accent remover is a separate route.
