Claude thesis checker

What the Claude thesis checker tells you

Paste a thesis statement and the Claude thesis checker reports back in writing on whether it is arguable, whether it is one claim or several, whether it is specific enough to defend, and whether the text you pasted around it actually argues for it.

It is a server tool: your text goes to our AI server, gets read there and comes back. Five free runs every 24 hours, up to 12,000 characters each, which is about two thousand words. That is a statement, an introduction or one section, not a whole dissertation.

Before you run it

What to paste, and what to leave out

You have five runs in a day. This is how to spend one well.

Paste the statement plus its paragraph
The sentence alone tells the checker what you claim. The paragraph tells it whether you delivered.
Leave out the literature review
It eats the character budget and the claim is not in it.
Include the question you were set
If there is a prompt or a title, paste it. A claim is only on-topic relative to something.
Ask one thing in the instruction box
Is this arguable. Or: is this two claims. Narrow questions get sharper answers.
Know your own policy first
Institutions differ on feedback tools. Check yours before you paste coursework anywhere.

How it works

How to check a Claude thesis statement in three steps

Three moves, and the third is where the value is.

Step 1
Paste the statement, ideally with the paragraph that introduces it, up to 12,000 characters.
Step 2
Add a 300-character instruction if you have a specific question, then run it.
Step 3
Rewrite the statement against the strongest objection it raises, and check the section still argues for the new version.

The usual problems

Five ways a thesis statement fails

Nearly every weak statement fails in one of these ways, and the first one accounts for most of them.

It states a fact
Nobody disagrees, so there is nothing to argue. This is the most common failure by a wide margin.
It makes two claims
An and in the middle usually means two papers competing for the same word count.
It hedges itself away
May, could, in some contexts. A claim that qualifies itself into nothing cannot be defended because it asserts nothing.
It is too big for the paper
A claim that would need a book cannot be supported in four thousand words.
The section argues something else
The statement promises one thing and the paragraphs deliver another. Markers notice this immediately.

What it will not do

What this checker does not check

Other tools on this search bundle these in. This one does not, and you should know before you rely on it.

No plagiarism check
No corpus, no comparison, no similarity score. It only reads the text you paste.
No grade
No mark, no rubric and no school standard alignment.
No grammar or spelling report
It reads the argument. Surface correctness is a separate job entirely.
No citation checking
It will not verify a reference, a page number or a format.
No AI-detection verdict
It describes what it observes. Observable style is not proof of who wrote something.

The cause

Why a Claude thesis statement often reads flat

Ask a model for a thesis statement and it usually returns a clean sentence that says something true. True is exactly the problem: a statement summarising the topic instead of taking a position survives every proofread and gives a marker nothing to push against.

The other two patterns are hedging and scale. Hedged claims cannot be defended because they have not asserted anything, and models tend to generate the biggest version of an idea, which is the one a short paper cannot support with the sources you actually have.

In practice

Who uses the Claude thesis checker, and when

Almost always at the moment when the statement exists and the paper does not.

Students
Testing the claim before writing four thousand words that rest on it.
Supervisors and tutors
A second read on a statement before a meeting, so the meeting can be about the argument.
Researchers
Checking an abstract, where the same test applies: is this a claim or a description.
Editors
Finding where a section stops arguing the thing it promised at the top.
FAQ

Everything answered. Claude thesis checker, frequently asked

How do I check my thesis statement?

Paste it above with its paragraph and run it. You get a written read on whether the claim is arguable, single and supported.

Is the Claude thesis checker free?

Yes, five free runs every 24 hours with no account.

Can I paste my whole thesis?

No. The cap is 12,000 characters per run, so go section by section.

Does it check plagiarism?

No. There is no corpus and no similarity score. It reads only the text you paste.

Does it grade my work?

No mark and no rubric. It reports on the argument instead.

Does it check grammar?

No. Grammar and argument are separate problems, and this route handles the second one.

Is my text sent anywhere?

Yes, to our AI server, where the reading happens. Treat unpublished research accordingly.

Can I ask a specific question?

Yes, in the 300-character instruction box, such as is this claim arguable or descriptive.

Is using a thesis checker cheating?

That is your institution's call. Many permit feedback tools and restrict generated text. Read the policy you are actually bound by.

Will it write the statement for me?

No. It reads yours and tells you where it is weak.

Why did it say my statement is not arguable?

Because an informed reader would simply agree. If no one could take the other side, it is a summary rather than a thesis.

Can I use it on an abstract or a research question?

Yes. The test is the same: does this assert something that could be contested.

Does it verify facts in my field?

No. It assesses the shape and support of the claim, not whether the underlying facts are correct.

Does it check citations?

No. References, page numbers and formatting are outside what it reads.

What is the difference between this and the essay checker?

This one is scoped to the claim and its support. The essay checker takes a wider view of a whole piece.

Why was my answer short?

A single sentence gives a short answer. Add the paragraph around it for a fuller read.

British or American English?

Both are read normally. It does not convert or enforce a spelling convention.

What happens when my runs are used up?

The button tells you when the next opens, 24 hours after each individual run.

Is there an API or batch mode?

No. One submission at a time.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes, the same way in any modern mobile browser.

Does it work on text from ChatGPT or Gemini?

Yes. It reads the claim, so which model drafted it is irrelevant.
