How do I rewrite a Perplexity essay?
Paste the section, write a short instruction protecting your citations, and run it. Then compare the output against your original before using it.
Is the Perplexity essay rewriter free?
Yes, up to 5 runs per rolling 24 hours. No account, no sign-up and no card.
How much can I paste in one run?
Between 1 and 12,000 characters, roughly 1,800 to 2,000 words. Our server rejects anything longer before it is processed.
Is my text uploaded?
Yes. This tool runs on our AI server, so your text is sent there. Do not paste anything confidential.
How do I stop it touching my citations?
Put it in the instruction field: do not move, reword or delete anything in square brackets or parentheses. Then verify afterwards anyway.
Are there tone or style modes?
No. There is no mode menu and no academic level picker, just a 300-character instruction field you write yourself.
How long can the instruction be?
Up to 300 characters. That is enough for two clear rules, so spend it on the two that matter most for your draft.
What order should I do things in?
Cut the unused findings, fix the facts, set the paragraph order, then rewrite. Rewriting first means paying for prose you delete.
Can I rewrite a whole dissertation chapter?
Not in one run. Split it at section breaks and rewrite each piece, keeping in mind the five-run allowance.
How many runs do I get per day?
Five per rolling 24 hours. Each one frees up 24 hours after you used it, not at midnight.
What happens when the allowance runs out?
The tool tells you the runs are spent and you wait for the earliest one to roll off. Nothing is lost.
Will it make my essay plagiarism free?
No. Rewording borrowed material leaves it borrowed, and the citation it required before is still required.
Will it pass Turnitin or GPTZero?
We make no claim about any detector. We do not test against them and cannot predict what they will report.
Does it verify my facts?
No. It cannot read a source or check a date. Assume every figure in the output needs the same check as the input.
Can I upload a document instead of pasting?
No. It takes pasted text only, so copy the text out of your Word file or PDF first.
Should I run it twice for a better result?
Rarely worth it. A second pass costs another run and tends to drift further from your own wording than it improves the prose.
Why does Perplexity output read like a list of facts?
Because it is assembled from separate retrieved passages. Each carries its own framing, and nothing joins them into an argument.
Is this the same as a paraphraser?
No. A paraphraser swaps words and leaves the sentence shape alone, which is precisely where a research draft reads wrong.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, in any current mobile browser. Pasting a 2,000-word section is the only fiddly part.
Is there an API or batch mode?
Not currently. One paste, one run.
Can I use it for a language other than English?
You can paste one, but the patterns being corrected come from English prose, so the result is less predictable.
Is this affiliated with Perplexity AI?
No. The name describes the kind of draft this handles and nothing else.
