Perplexity line break remover
What the Perplexity line break remover does
This app takes Perplexity text that pastes with a hard break after nearly every sentence or bullet and joins it into a single flowing block. Every line break becomes a plain space, resulting runs of spaces collapse to one, and you get one continuous paragraph.
It runs on your device. Paste, press the button, copy the result. Nothing you paste is uploaded.
Why it happens
Why Perplexity answers fragment into so many short lines
Perplexity builds an answer by retrieving and summarising several web sources, and often presents it as a run of short, citation-backed statements, one fact per line or bullet, each pointing at a numbered source. That's useful for checking a claim against its citation, but it pastes as a fragmented block rather than prose.
A bulleted source list underneath the main text adds further short lines that most people want stripped entirely rather than joined into a paragraph.
The Focus mode used for the query doesn't change this much either way. Academic, Writing and the general default all still tend toward short, citation-anchored lines, since the habit comes from how the answer is assembled from sources, not from which mode retrieved them.
Worked example
What a typical citation-backed answer looks like pasted raw
A three-sentence question can come back as six or seven short lines: a claim, its citation number, the next claim, its citation number, and so on, followed by a numbered list of the sources themselves underneath. Read on screen it's perfectly clear. Pasted into a plain-text box it looks like a bulleted outline rather than an answer.
Running it through this tool turns the claims back into one paragraph, citation numbers still attached inline, while the separate source list at the bottom collapses into the same run-on line along with everything else.
Workflow
How to remove line breaks from Perplexity text in three steps
Nothing to configure.
- Step 1
- Copy the answer from Perplexity, with or without citation markers, and paste it into the box.
- Step 2
- Press Remove line breaks. It runs instantly, on your device.
- Step 3
- Copy the joined text.
Straight answer
Does it remove every line break, or just the extra ones?
Every one. Every line break, including a deliberate paragraph break, becomes a single space, producing one unbroken paragraph, the correct behaviour for text that shouldn't have had breaks in the first place.
If the answer has real paragraphs worth keeping, run this and reinsert a blank line where each one should start.
Why it matters
What line-broken Perplexity text actually breaks
One-sentence-per-line text pasted into an email or research note reads like an unintended list, and rich-text editors often reflow it strangely. A summary built from it can truncate at the first break rather than the real limit.
In code and data, a stray hard break inside a field expecting one continuous value breaks the format outright.
A word count or a translation tool fed the fragmented version also gets thrown off, since a claim broken across a citation number and a line break can register as two short segments instead of the one sentence it actually is.
Worth knowing
This doesn't remove citation numbers, only the breaks around them
A citation marker is ordinary visible text, not a line break, so joining lines leaves it in place, now sitting inline instead of at the end of a line. To remove citation numbers entirely, edit the text separately, since that's a different kind of change.
A standalone numbered source list gets joined into a run-on line along with everything else. Process it separately if you want to keep it as a list.
The same goes for a related-questions block Perplexity sometimes adds at the end of an answer, suggested follow-up queries as a short list of their own. Copy that section along with the main answer and it joins into the same run-on paragraph, so cut it out first if you're only after the answer itself.
Who it's for
Who uses the Perplexity line break remover, and when
Researchers pulling a couple of sentences out of a longer, citation-heavy answer use it so the excerpt reads as prose rather than a fragmented list.
Writers building a briefing document out of several Perplexity answers use it to turn each into a clean paragraph before combining them.
