How do I remove all spaces from a Perplexity answer?
Paste it into the box and press Remove spaces.
Is it free?
Yes. No signup, no trial, no usage limit.
Is my Perplexity text uploaded anywhere?
No. Processing happens in your browser.
Why does Perplexity text sometimes carry unusual spaces?
Answers are built by summarising several web pages, so the text can carry over a non-breaking or Unicode space from a cited source.
How do I remove extra spaces but keep single spaces?
Use the whitespace minifier instead.
Does it remove line breaks too?
Yes, tabs and newlines are whitespace too.
Will it remove non-breaking spaces?
Yes, along with thin, hair and ideographic spaces.
Is there a limit on how much text I can clean?
No length cap and no run limit.
Does it work on phones?
Yes, in any modern mobile browser.
Does it change Perplexity's wording?
No. Only whitespace is removed.
Does it affect citation numbers?
No, citation markers are ordinary characters and are left in place.
What's the difference between this and the whitespace minifier?
This removes every space. The minifier collapses runs of spaces into one.
Why does my text read as one long word afterwards?
That's expected: removing every space joins the words.
Does it handle Chinese, Japanese and Korean text?
Yes, the full-width ideographic space is recognised and removed.
Can it trim only trailing spaces at line ends?
Not on its own. Use the text splitter.
Is there an API or batch mode?
No. It's a single browser tool with no account.
Is it safe for confidential research notes?
Yes. Nothing leaves your browser and nothing is stored.
Does it also remove zero-width characters?
No, use the Perplexity zero-width space remover for invisible characters that don't leave a visible gap.
Why does a space next to a citation number sometimes behave oddly?
Perplexity's renderer can hold the gap between a word and its citation number with a non-breaking space so the two don't split across a line, and that character isn't the same as an ordinary space.
Does removing spaces delete the citation numbers themselves?
No, the digits or brackets in a citation marker are ordinary characters and stay exactly where they were. Only whitespace is affected.
Does the Focus mode I used change which spaces show up?
Not meaningfully. The mixture depends more on the pages retrieved and Perplexity's own renderer than on which Focus mode produced the answer.
Can I clean an answer that still has its source list at the bottom?
Yes, the source list is ordinary text and gets the same treatment as the rest of the paste.
